Louis XVs reign as King of France between the years of 1710 and 1774 came with a style of design that favoured curved forms, lightness and symmetry replacing the larger, boxier and more formal blueprint of Louis XIV. This copper jug from 1745 is a wonderfully rare product of its time, complete with a rounded handle and spout. Due to its age and lining, this is not food-safe and is intended for decorative use only.
